Asterisk Next to Required Items on New Person Add.

description

This would allow people to know what fields they absolutely must fill out. :)

No one else is complaining about this. Try using it as is for a while. We have hundreds of users who use this everyday and seem to get along fine. This dialog box is for a Church Coordinator who is trusted to add new people. I use the submit all the time to "see" which fields require the "na" this does not offend me nor do I feel as if I did something wrong since I did it on purpose. There is not a lot of room to put instructions on this dialog box. You have asked for this before and I suggested you layout and design a screen to accomplish what you are thinking.

Actually, most of the fields require something or "na". And you get the help you need by just clicking Submit. I can see this being important for an online registration. But not for this dialog box. It would be confusing to say date of birth is required when you could just put "na" But I want you to have to do that to make it intentional.

Yeah, I guess I'm thinking it would be helpful in knowing which fields require na (which I find a little confusing since I think of "not applicable" not "not available" when I see na)...Perhaps just a little note that says something like, "If you do not have any of the following (list of required) enter na)...b/c its not intuitive that I need to enter na for those fields until I click submit...and I don't like when my screen shows me red letters telling me I did something wrong. :)
